Both Combo Workshops offer a hands-on, experiential approach to learning how to play within a group context. Each semester the combo includes a full rhythm section of piano, bass, drums and guitar and various combinations and number of reed and brass players. Combo make-up can vary from semester to semester. The course is designed to develop the student's ability for group interaction as occurs in "Real-Life" band situations. Mid-semester the combo will begin learning three compositions with an eye towards a concert or recording them at the semester's end. Students receive a CD copy of the recording.
